The school referred to by the Deputy was approved under the Additional School Accommodation Scheme to provide 1 mainstream classroom and a 2 classroom SEN base. The project is devolved to the school authority for delivery.
A Stage 2b Report (post planning) was received in April 2025. This report will require a thorough and intensive review from both a technical and cost perspective in accordance with the requirements of the Public Spending Code. All projects, including this one, will undergo the necessary due diligence outlined in the Public Infrastructure Guidelines
Once this review is complete, my Department will be in touch with the school on progression of this much needed project.
The next stage of progression for this project is approval to tender (Stage 3), this approval must be received by the department in writing before the school authorities can proceed.
