My Department's ICT Unit has a core team of civil servants whose primary focus is cyber security and who work within a broader ICT team which supports specialist functions such as networks and infrastructure, data and business applications and the provision of IT capabilities to internal customers. The internal cyber security team has been expanded over the recent period and further growth in internal resources is envisaged over the period ahead. Ongoing cyber security learning and development opportunities are made available to these specialist staff. Where required, the internal team are supplemented by specialist external resources providing consulting and advisory services to ensure that the Department has to access additional specialist resources and skills as required for a specific projects or workstreams.

In addition to the cyber security team, cyber security and related matters strongly feature as a part of many roles within the ICT Unit and these duties are performed by civil servants.
