I propose to take Questions Nos. 853 and 927 together.

The Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment is responsible for supporting the growth of a competitive and sustainable tourism industry. As Minister for Tourism, I would be delighted to see EuroPride 2028 being held in Ireland and I support the Wild Atlantic EuroPride bid to host this event. I am also pleased to support the bid to host the EuroPride Human Rights Conference - the conference element of the EuroPride 2028 event - across counties Limerick and Clare in 2028.

I am advised that through Fáilte Ireland’s Business Development team, a significant level of practical supports have been provided to the Conference bid including venue sourcing, support with funding applications, site visit support, etc. The EuroPride Human Rights Conference 2028, should Ireland be successful in winning this bid, would result in an estimated attendance of 1,200 delegates, of which 600 will be international visitors.

I understand that a decision on the host destination is expected in the coming weeks and I wish the organisers of Ireland's EuroPride 2028 bid and associated EuroPride Human Rights Conference bid every success in the bidding process.
