The Office of Public Works (OPW) has a statutory duty to maintain Arterial Drainage Schemes constructed under the Arterial Drainage Act 1945, as amended. The area referenced in your correspondence forms a part of the Maine Arterial Drainage Scheme, which is under the auspices of the OPW. Records indicate that this channel was last maintained in 2020. Further maintenance works were completed on 21st July 2025 and the landowner can contact the OPW Regional Office if any concerns remain.
