To ask the Minister for Finance to estimate the annual revenue that would be raised by a 5% and 10% levy on net profits of grocery retail chains with revenue in excess of €50 million annually; fast food chains with revenue in excess of €25 million annually; and if he will provide figures for both categories separately and combined, based on the most recent available data. I am advised by Revenue, that due to the low number of grocery retail chains with revenue in excess of €50 million annually, and fast-food chains with revenue in excess of €25 million annually, it is not possible to provide the estimate requested by the Deputy because of Revenue’s obligation to observe confidentiality.
