The Defence Forces is mandated to report its energy performance annually through the Monitoring and Reporting platform run by SEAI. The CO2 baseline 2016-18 for the DF across all sectors was 61,392,000 kg CO2. The final emissions of CO2 in 2024 for the Defence Forces represents a 49.5% reduction on the baseline. The DF Energy Management System which is accredited to ISO 50,001 was recertified in 2024 by an external auditor.
