My Department's CLÁR programme provides funding under a number of different measures for small-scale infrastructural projects in designated rural areas that have experienced disadvantage and significant levels of depopulation over a defined period.
The closing date for receipt of applications under CLÁR 2025 has now passed for all measures.
Measure 1 of the programme is administered by the local authorities, who prioritise and submit applications to my Department for assessment. I understand that an application was submitted to the local authority by the organisation referred to by the Deputy. The local authority received more applications than it was permitted to submit to my Department for consideration. The application referred to by the Deputy was not among the projects shortlisted by the local authority for submission to my Department.
