The Government has approved an appeals process that will give those businesses in the retail, hospitality and beauty sectors that were not eligible for the ICOB and the Power Up grant because they misclassified their business sector an opportunity to register for those grants.
This is not a re-opening of those grant schemes, this is designed solely to allow those who originally misclassified their business sector an opportunity to register for the grants.
It is intended that the reclassification appeals process for ICOB and Power Up will open in the coming weeks. Local Authorities will write out to businesses who may be eligible with details of how to make their appeal.
Eligible businesses will be given an opportunity to register for the grants in the same way as the original ICOB registration process. Upon review and verification, it is anticipated that local authorities will then be in a position to pay eligible businesses as soon as possible.
