Since its establishment in 2022, the Community Centre Investment Fund (CCIF) has provided approximately €110 million for the enhancement and refurbishment of existing community centres and the construction of new centres.
Over €45.8 million was approved for some 861 community centres nationwide under CCIF 2022. In early 2024, funding of over €30 million was approved for the construction of 12 new community centres under the 2023 CCIF new builds measure.
Under the 2024 iteration of the fund, over €33 million has been approved to support refurbishment works on over 770 projects nationwide. This funding was awarded in 2024 and earlier this year.
The funding is awarded directly by my Department and, with the exception of some new build community centres, is not managed through the local authorities. Details have therefore been provided in respect of the funding provided in each county since 2022 to date in 2025 in the table attached.

The Community Recognition Fund (CRF) was first introduced in 2023 to recognise the huge efforts made by communities in welcoming and supporting people coming to Ireland. Under the CRF 2023 and 2024 a total of €100 million in funding has been allocated to local authorities to be made available to communities across Ireland.
Over 1,400 projects that have been awarded funding under the CRF. Details of all of these projects can be viewed on my Department’s website. A significant number of projects approved under the CRF are now complete and communities are enjoying the benefits that this funding has delivered.
Details of the funding allocation for each local authority under the 2023 and 2024 Community Recognition Fund are in the table attached.
