The Accommodation Recognition Payment (ARP) is a monthly payment of €600 available to those providing accommodation to a person or people who arrived in Ireland under the EU Temporary Protection Directive.

Since the scheme launched in July 2022, over €339m has been paid to some 26,100 recipients in respect of hosting over 56,700 temporary protection beneficiaries. As of 13 July 2025, some 16,900 hosts are accommodating almost 39,600 temporary protection beneficiaries in over 21,800 properties supported by the ARP.

Statistical information for the periods requested is provided below.

Please note that the data provided relates to the number of properties connected to awarded ARP claims rather than the number of property owners. Under the Civil Law (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2022, which underpins the scheme, a host may apply for the scheme where they are the owner of the property or a tenant of the property, and where they have the consent of the owner(s) and/or other tenants to host a temporary protection beneficiary. As the application process does not distinguish between hosts who are property owners and those who are tenants, the information requested regarding property owners is not available.
