The organisation in question has been awarded funding from my department under the Youth Services Grant Scheme (YSGS) pilot 2024-2025. It has been awarded a €125,000 grant for the funding period which runs to December 2025.
With this grant, the organisation will work with young people and youth workers to explore social challenges, for example social justice, peace and conflict, and the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). As part of the programme, participants will map and examine local community issues and share community maps to identify common challenges. They will develop a key social innovation idea, then plan and carry out an action project. As they do so, they will take part in events to share ideas and connect and will be introduced to social innovation and real-world innovators.
