My thoughts are with all employees who are affected by this announcement. I fully appreciate how difficult this situation is for those involved.

Employers proposing collective redundancies are required by law to engage in a 30-day information and consultation period with the employees representatives and to notify the Minister for Enterprise, Tourism and Employment of the proposed redundancies at least 30 days before the first dismissal takes effect. A collective redundancy notification was received from the company concerned on 2 July 2025.

Government also provides a range of supports to any employees facing job losses. The Intreo service of the Department of Social Protection can assist with income supports and relevant employment and training opportunities where needed.
