Licenses for firework displays are granted by the Department of Justice as they are the department responsible for licensing the import, storage and the use of fireworks including for public and private displays. My officials have advised me that such a licence was obtained.
The Office of Public Works was aware of the firework display and through the park ranger service, monitored the wild deer herd and other wildlife during the short display of fireworks held on Thursday 3 July 2025.
The U.S. Embassy has confirmed that the fireworks vendor complied with all necessary permitting and licensing requirements for the event.
