I would like to thank the Deputy for her question.

As the Deputy is aware, Ireland has comprehensive legislation to protect workers who raise concerns about wrongdoing in the workplace. The Protected Disclosures Act was enacted in 2014. This legislation was further enhanced by the Protected Disclosures Amendment Act 2022 (the 2022 Act).

Exchequer grant support has been provided to Transparency International Ireland (TII) since 2016 for the provision of a free Speak Up Helpline and Legal Advice Service for persons considering making a protected disclosure or who have made a protected disclosure.

Funding for TII in 2025 amounts to €368,500 which is the same amount as was provided in 2024.

The table below sets out the grant funding amounts if funding were to increase by 5%, 10% and 15%.

2025 grant total amount 2025 grant total increased by 5% 2025 grant total increased by 10% 2025 grant total increased by 15%
€368,500 €386,925 €405,350 €423,775
