I propose to take Questions Nos. 207 and 208 together.
The Solar PV for the Medically Vulnerable Scheme is a targeted pilot scheme for installing solar photovoltaic (PV) panels for customers/households registered on the life support category of the Priority Services Register. This scheme was designed in 2022 and is operated by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) in conjunction with Energy Suppliers. Each Energy Supplier is responsible for contacting their own eligible customers directly, in line with the specific work plans for their Solar PV Installers.
Since the scheme became available, a total of 279 medically vulnerable homeowners had installations completed by their supplier.
In addition to these completed installations, there are approximately 200 further applications currently in progress across various stages, ranging from committed applications to booked installations and ongoing works, among the four suppliers participating in the scheme. Furthermore, around 40 applications are awaiting local authority permission, bringing the total number of individuals actively engaged with the scheme to approximately 520.
It is important to note that suppliers, who manage the administrative aspects of the scheme under SEAI, issue offers to eligible homeowners in batches. As such, the number of the homeowners interested in the Scheme continues to grow steadily.
