The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade's work to advance Ireland's values and interests abroad is underpinned by a number of thematic, geographic and operational strategies.
The Statement of Strategy sets out the Department's high-level goals and reflects its commitments under the Programme for Government. It is complemented by two core strategies, “Global Ireland – Ireland's Global Footprint to 2025” and “A Better World – Ireland's Policy for International Development” which in turn are supported by a range of strategic documents which are detailed below.
Moreover, in the coming months my Department will play a lead role in shaping a successor strategy to Global Ireland – Global Ireland 2040 – which will further enhance our reputation, visibility and influence abroad.
