My Department has staff based across 5 locations; Trinity Point, 10-11 South Leinster Street, Dublin 2; Government Buildings, Ballina, County Mayo; Na Forbacha, County Galway; Na Doirí Beaga, County Donegal, and Joyce House, Lombard Street Dublin 2.

My Department occupies these offices on a tenancy basis and does not own any of the CCTV equipment in operation at these locations. I am not in a position to disclose more detailed information on technology utilised as to do so could compromise the security of the premises in question, however I am informed that there are a total of 47 CCTV cameras in operation across these sites, in some cases covering spaces shared with other tenants.

My Department owns Aerfort Chonamara, in Indreabhán, Co Galway. This location, along with aerodromes on Oileáin Árann and Inishbofin, and in Cleggan, Co. Galway is managed by an external provider on foot of a public procurement contract. The contractor is responsible for all aspects of the management of these facilities, including security. I am not in a position to disclose information on CCTV at these locations on grounds of operational safety.

There are eight agencies under the remit of my Department,: Pobal, Western Development Commission, Charities Regulatory Authority, Water Safety Ireland, Oifig an Choimisinéara Teanga, Údarás na Gaeltachta, Foras na Gaeilge, and the Ulster-Scots Agency.

These agencies are independent legal entities responsible for managing their own corporate affairs, including the adoption of appropriate security mechanisms such as CCTV monitoring, in compliance with statutory obligations and the Code of Practice for the Governance of State Bodies. Such information is, therefore, a matter for each of the bodies concerned.
