To date in 2025, the Passport Service issued more than 585,000 passport books and cards. The Passport Service is responding well to demand during our busy summer period, with virtually all complete passport applications being processed within or before advertised turnaround times. Over half of adult renewal applications are processed within 2 working days.
The number of applications being processed by the Passport Service changes day-to-day, and hour-to-hour, as passport applications come in, and passports are sent out via post to our citizens. It is not possible to assess retrospectively how many passport applications, with dispatch addresses in County Kildare, were being processed on Monday 7 July, 2025.
However, I can tell the Deputy how many applications with dispatch addresses in County Kildare are being processed on the day of answering this question.
On 10 July, the number of applications with dispatch addresses in County Kildare was 1,601. The breakdown of online and paper applications is show in the table below, as well as how many applications were with the Passport Service for processing and how many applications were with the applicant.
- | With Applicant | With PPS | Total |
---|---|---|---|
ONLINE | 690 | 580 | 1,270 |
PAPER | 161 | 170 | 331 |
Total | 851 | 750 | 1,601 |
