The foreshore lease referred to by the Deputy was granted by the then Minister for Housing, Planning and Local Government. The role of assessing applications for Maritime Area Consents has since been transferred to the Maritime Area Regulatory Authority (MARA), an agency under the remit of the Department of Climate, Energy and the Environment.

Responsibility for enforcement of the terms and conditions of Marine Area Consents, such as foreshore leases, is a matter for MARA.

Compliance with the terms of a foreshore lease is an operational matter for the Marine Institute.
