The average cost of accommodating a person in international protection accommodation centres, including State-owned over the last four years is as set out below.
All IPAS Accommodation - Average Cost 2020 to 2024
Year | 2020 | 2021 | 2022 | 2023 | 2024 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
Average | €72 | €72 | €50 | €68 | €84 |
The average cost per night fluctuates due to changes in the number of residents and accommodation centres, which occur on a regular and ongoing basis as people arrive and leave accommodation centres.
The above costing, which is the average cost per resident per night has been calculated in each year as a “point-in-time” average. This is calculated by the total cost in each year, divided by the total number of residents at 31st December in each year, and is indicative only. As such, the costing is not calculated prospectively and an equivalent projected average cost for 2025 is not available at this time.
