As the Deputy will recall, at the time of asking the information requested in relation to numbers of cases featuring testimony from the former Deputy State Pathologist, as well as convictions, and acquittals in these cases, was not available in digital format as the cases concerned span the period from 2009 to 2013.
The OSP commenced a manual review of relevant files in February 2025. As the Deputy will understand, the OSP must prioritise active cases. Additionally, further information may need to be sought from the DPP to complete the review.
The outcome of the manual review is expected in the coming weeks. It is not possible to provide an accurate number of such reviews, nor to identify who carried out such reviews, until such time as this is completed.
