137. To ask the Minister for Culture, Heritage and the Gaeltacht for an up-to-date position regarding the updating of the funding map associated with the Clár Programme, which is recognised of being out of date and in need of updating, as per the Pobal Deprivation Index; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The CLÁR Programme provides funding under a number of different measures for small-scale infrastructural projects in designated rural areas.
The Programme for Government makes a commitment to carry out a comprehensive review of the eligibility criteria for CLÁR within 6 months with a view to expanding the programme to rural areas which are currently ineligible.
This review is now at an advanced stage and I expect this work to be concluded within the timeframe provided in the Programme for Government.
The outcome of the review will inform my decision regarding the areas that will be eligible for CLÁR in the future.
