Whilst my Department has not received any specific information in respect of these matters, ensuring the safety of all public health employees, including those in the National Ambulance Service (NAS), is a priority for me, my Department, and for the Health Service Executive (HSE) as a whole.

All HSE employees, including those in the NAS, have the right to work in a safe environment under the HSE Dignity at Work policy and are treated with dignity and respect in their place of work, and I know that the HSE treats any allegations made under its policy with the utmost seriousness.

I have asked the HSE to respond to the Deputy directly with any further pertinent information it may have in the context of its current framework and policy for handling such allegations and complaints.
