To ask the Minister for Health the details of equipment and machinery, such as CT and MRI scanners and linear accelerator machines, which have reached their end of life, across each statutory and section 38 hospital, in tabular form; to be requested from each hospital as required; the date at which they reached end of life; the breakdown rate of these machines; the productive hours lost as a result of breakdowns; the number of days where each machine was non-operational due to breakdown; the cost of maintenance to date per machine as a result of breakdowns and as a result of vendors not covering maintenance due to machinery being no longer under warranty; the number and details of machines which are idle or underutilised due to staffing and the WTE requirement to ensure they are operational at full capacity; and if she will make a statement on the matter. To ask the Minister for Health if the main CT scanner for radiation oncology at St. Luke’s is within or beyond its end of life; if there is a concern whether this machine will not be operational if it is turned off, and as such if it is left turned on 24 hours a day; her plans for replacing all equipment at St. Luke’s which is beyond or nearing end of life; the budgetary requirements for same and the sanctioned budget for replacements; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
