I understand the Deputy has clarified that their question relates to processing times for Stamp 4 immigration permission applications for holders of a Critical Skills Employment Permit (CSEP), for a parent of an Irish citizen child, and for a spouse, civil partner or de-facto partner of an Irish citizen.
Holders of a CSEP wishing to transfer to a Stamp 4 immigration permission, upon satisfying the relevant criteria, can apply to renew their immigration permission using the Immigration Service Delivery (ISD) Online Forms portal at: inisonline.jahs.ie/user/login
Further information for CSEP holders is available on the ISD website at the following link: /www.irishimmigration.ie/registering-your-immigration-permission/how-to-register-your-immigration-permission-for-the-first-time/required-documents/
Applicants who are the parent of an Irish citizen child or are the spouse/civil partner of an Irish national, and who have an existing immigration permission, can also apply to renew their permission online, upon satisfying the relevant criteria.
The Registration Office within ISD provide a live application processing date, which is updated every Monday, and is available at: www.irishimmigration.ie/registering-your-immigration-permission/how-to-renew-your-current-permission/renewing-your-registration-permission-if-you-live-in-the-republic-of-ireland/#processing
The Registration Office are currently processing applications submitted from the week starting 21 June 2025. In order to ensure a fair and equitable service, renewals are processed in order of date submitted.
Applicants who have recently entered the State and who are the parent of an Irish citizen child, or are the spouse/civil partner of an Irish national, should make an appointment with the Registration Office by using our dedicated Customer Service portal, portal.irishimmigration.ie/en/, and attend the office to register their permission with the required documentation.
Applicants who do not have a valid immigration permission to be in the State and who are either the parent of an Irish citizen child, or are the spouse/civil partner of an Irish national, need to submit an application to the Domestic Residence and Permissions (DRP) division of my Department.
Applications should be submitted online using the Customer Service Portal. The DRP division are currently processing applications for immigration permission as the parent of an Irish Citizen child received from 5 May 2025. Applications for immigration permission on the basis of being the spouse/civil partner of an Irish national are currently being processed from 25 April 2025.
It is important to note that no two applications are the same and some take longer than others to process. I want to assure anyone who is waiting on a decision that my Department is doing everything possible to progress applications as quickly as possible.
Further information, including the relevant application forms, is available on my Departments ISD website at the following links: www.irishimmigration.ie/my-situation-has-changed-since-i-arrived-in-ireland/the-parent-of-an-irish-citizen-child
