Many staff of the department have qualifications in a wide range of areas, including in teaching for example, however these may not necessarily have been an eligibility requirement for the posts to which they were assigned within the department. There are, however,146 Inspectors who are typically former teachers with experience in the school system currently working in non-teaching posts in the Department of Education and Youth. My department does not maintain a central register of the qualifications of staff members. Where specific qualifications form part of the eligibility criteria for particular posts, publicjobs conduct pre-employment checks, including qualification verification as required.
