This Government is delivering a sustainable funding path to further enhance the ongoing significant improvements in our public water and wastewater services.
The Uisce Éireann Strategic Funding Plan 2025-2029 was approved in November 2024 and sets out an ambitious capital investment plan to make necessary improvements to water and wastewater infrastructure including new capacity to facilitate growth.
However, the Strategic Funding Plan does not take account of the new housing targets as they were set after the plan was submitted.
Uisce Éireann has, therefore, submitted a request for additional funding to deliver the capacity to facilitate housing development in our towns and villages. This funding request is under consideration as part of the ongoing National Development Plan (NDP) 2026-2030 review, which is due to be completed in the coming weeks.
