A final draft of the commissioned Report on a Systematic Review to Examine Definitions, Interventions, Indicators and Risk Factors of Institutional, Organisational and Organised Child Abuse, Including Trafficking and Exploitation of Children and Young People has been received in my Department for final consideration and observations.

As the Deputy is aware, this literature review is part of a larger project being undertaken by Tusla and my Department to generate a robust evidence base to inform Tusla’s policy and practice responses to institutional, and organised abuse and its prevention. A particular focus of this review is to develop recommendations for definitions of institutional, organisational and organised child abuse based on the findings in the report.

Work on the finalisation of the report is expected to be completed in the near future.
