615. To ask the Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine the amount in terms of acres/hectares of forestry land currently owned by Coillte in the Ballycastle area; the amount of forestry land in the Ballycastle area sold by Coillte over the past ten years; and when was it sold. [35724/25]

Coillte was established as a commercial state company with private limited status under the Forestry Act, 1988, to become custodian and manager of the national forest estate. The company is currently managing 440,000 hectares of land (7% of the total area of the Republic of Ireland), and its day-to-day operations, such as details of lands owned and sold in the Ballycastle area, are entirely a matter for the company.
I have accordingly asked Coillte to respond directly to the Deputy on the matters raised.
