418. To ask the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment if he has received the interim report of the Advisory Committee on Restitution and Repatriation of Cultural Heritage; if not, when he expects to receive this report; if he will publish the report; and if he will make a statement on the matter. I have received the Interim Report of the Expert Advisory Committee on Restitution and Repatriation, and I am pleased with the progress made by this Committee to date. I am grateful to Sir Donnell Deeny in his role as Chair and also to the Heritage Council for their support for the Committee in their role as Secretariat.
I do not propose publishing the interim report at this point. This is a complex piece of work, and it will take time and further research for the Committee to complete all aspects of their work programme, and I wish to respect this process. I look forward to receiving their final report in due course.
