14. To ask the Minister for Environment, Community and Local Government whether the board and or senior management team of Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI) has given notice to Departmental officials that the Cong Salmon Hatchery in County Galway will cease operations imminently, considering that IFI operates under the aegis of his Department; and if he will make a statement on the matter. The operation of the Cong Hatchery is a day to day operational matter for Inland Fisheries Ireland (IFI) as the independent State Agency with statutory responsibility for the protection, management and conservation of the inland fisheries resource.

I am advised that no decision has been taken by IFI to cease operations of Cong Salmon Hatchery in County Galway so the question of notice does not arise.
