I refer to your correspondence on behalf of the named individual regarding their application for incremental credit for prior primary teaching service.

The criteria for the award of incremental credit are set out in the Department’s Circulars 10/2001 for Primary teachers, 29/2007 and 29/2010 for post-primary teachers. The criteria for the award of incremental credit to recognised teachers was agreed under the auspices of the Teachers Conciliation Council (TCC). The relevant circular applying here is 10/2001. .

The teacher to whom you refer applied to have prior primary teaching service in the UK recognised for incremental credit purposes. The relevant unit of my department is processing this teacher’s application and will issue an outcome letter as soon as the application has been fully assessed.
