Further to Parliamentary Question No. 297 of 12 February 2025, I can confirm that my officials continue to engage with the Teachers' Union of Ireland (TUI) regarding its claim through the established IR mechanisms.
I understand that the most recent engagement with TUI officials occurred earlier this month to discuss the claim in the context of local bargaining. At the meeting there was mutual agreement to progress this claim separately to the local bargaining process.
My officials are continuing work to submit recommendations to me for consideration in respect of TUI claim's to align the Youthreach calendar with the second level calendar year.
