The Capital Investment Scheme for the Processing and Marketing of Agricultural products was approved as part of the previous Government’s Brexit response to support the food processing industry. This €100 million support scheme assists food processors in the meat and dairy sectors to diversify their product ranges and markets to support their export activity, to the benefit of primary producers.
The scheme is jointly funded by the Department of Enterprise, Tourism and Employment and the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine, and is administered by Enterprise Ireland. The table below outlines the funds allocated to the projects of successful applicants under both calls following a competitive process.
The scheme rules provide that eligible projects must have total eligible capital expenditure of at least €1 million, up to a maximum of €25 million. The maximum aid intensity provided for was up to 30% of the eligible investment costs, up to a maximum direct grant of €5 million.
Funding is allocated to applicants on project completion following an assessment by Enterprise Ireland.
