469. To ask the Minister for Communications, Climate Action and Environment the position regarding the powers that Sport Ireland has to compel sport's governing bodies to adhere to certain standards or meet certain targets, if he will outline what those targets and standards are; and if he will make a statement on the matter. Sport Ireland is the statutory body with responsibility for the development of sport, increasing participation at all levels and raising standards. It also has responsibility for governance oversight of National Governing Bodies (NGBs) of Sport, Local Sports Partnerships (LSPs) and other funded bodies.

I have referred the Deputy's Question to Sport Ireland for direct reply on this matter. Please contact my office if a reply is not received within 10 days.
