117. To ask the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection the number of carers in Kilkenny and Carlow that received the carer’s support grant in 2025; how the number of recipients this year compares to 2020; and if he will make a statement on the matter. [32898/25]

The Carer’s Support Grant is an annual payment made to carers who get Carer's Allowance, Carer's Benefit or Domiciliary Care Allowance. It can also be paid to certain other carers providing full-time care.In June 2025, a total of 2,720 people in Kilkenny and 2,048 people in Carlow received the Carer's Support Grant. This compares with 2,207 people in Kilkenny and 1,855 people in Carlow in 2020, representing an increase of 23% and 10% respectively.
