342. As set out in the Guidelines for Appointments of CEOs of Non-Commercial State Bodies, it is a matter for each Parent Department to manage the appointments of CEOs and Directors to bodies under its aegis, including determination of remuneration and tenure, while having regard to the requirements set out in these Guidelines, with the consent of my Department.  The role of the Department for Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation is essentially to ensure that proposals from other Departments comply with public sector pay policy.
