To ask the Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth the number of legal cases defended by her Department and or the HSE in each of the past ten years in respect of an alleged failure to provide an assessment of need; of those cases, the number in which proceedings are pending or continuing; the number of cases which were lost and won, respectively, in the same period; the number of cases that settled in the past ten years in respect of the same matter; and if she will make a statement on the matter. As this question refers to service matters, I have asked the Health Service Executive (HSE) to respond to the Deputy directly, as soon as possible.
