Finalisation and publication of the new National Disability Strategy is a clear priority for Government, and publication is expected in early course. In keeping with the Programme for Government, work is ongoing to establish robust delivery and monitoring structures that will include enhanced political oversight and clear mechanisms for accountability, including with the involvement of disabled person's organisations and cross-government accountability. The Taoiseach is establishing a unit in his department that will work with my own, as well as with departments leading on individual pillars under the Strategy, to support whole-of Government delivery and accountability through the Strategy framework and ultimately through the Cabinet Committee on Disability and supporting structures.
