Tusla, the Child and Family Agency, is the dedicated State agency responsible for improving wellbeing and outcomes for children and families. Tusla perform invaluable work often under extremely challenging circumstances.

On becoming Minister, I requested to meet with the CEO of Tusla and it was agreed that we would meet on 19 February 2025.

The CEO and I discussed a wide variety of issues including priorities going forward. The meeting provided a welcome opportunity to get to know each other and to share our views on key matters for children and families in Ireland.

Subsequent to the meeting, on 21 February, I had a follow up phone call with the CEO and Ms. Duggan supplied me with supplementary information by e-mail on 22 February.

On 19 March 2025, I had a further meeting with the CEO of Tusla. On 7 May 2025, I had my first Quarterly meeting with Tusla, which the CEO attended.

My officials are in regular contact with Tusla, including its Board and CEO. I have also corresponded directly with the Tusla CEO on 12 February 2025.
