As a key partner in the Government’s delivery of affordable and social homes, the Land Development Agency (LDA) is activating and securing the delivery of social and affordable homes in stalled planning consented developments, managing the State’s own lands to develop new homes and partnering with local authorities to unlock housing delivery at scale on their lands. In the longer-term, it will assemble strategic land-banks from a mix of public and private lands making these available for housing.
The LDA is working with Dublin City Council to explore the possible development of affordable and social housing at the site of the former Ballymun Shopping Centre, which is a well positioned site within the Ballymun regeneration area.
Any potential partnership approach to the site would be progressed in line with other construction partnerships being advanced between the LDA and Dublin City Council such as at Bluebell Waterways, Cromcastle in Coolock, Cherry Orchard Point and the Donore Project at St. Teresa's Gardens.
I understand that engagement is underway.
