Since 2020, my department has invested over €6 billion in our schools throughout the country under the National Development Plan (NDP), involving the completion of over 1,375 school building projects. Government support for this investment, including by way of supplementary capital funding, has delivered real benefits for school communities.

Since 2020, the total capital invested in Co. Donegal schools is over €188m, of which €77m at post primary level and €111m at primary level

From 2020 to date, 62 school building projects have been completed in Co. Donegal, 14 at post primary level and 48 at primary level. These projects were delivered under the Large Scale, Additional Accommodation schemes and Modular programme.

Currently there are 17 school building projects under construction in Co. Donegal, 6 are at post primary level and 11 at primary level of which 3 are new school building projects.

There are 41 school building projects in Co. Donegal moving through the various stages of design, 16 at post primary level and 25 at primary level of which 3 are new school building projects, 1 at primary level and 2 at post primary level.

The status of all projects is set out at (www.gov.ie). This is updated on a regular basis to reflect project progress through the various stages of capital appraisal, site acquisition, design, tender and construction.
