The Youthreach programme is of great importance to my Department as it provides early school leavers with the knowledge, skills and confidence required to participate fully in society and progress to further education, training and employment.

As the state agency responsible for the FET sector, SOLAS allocates funding to 16 Education and Training Boards and other agencies to deliver FET programmes, including Youthreach. As part of the allocation from SOLAS, Cavan and Monaghan ETB (CMETB) provide funding to Youthreach centres across the two counties.

There are currently three Youthreach centres in County Cavan, located in Cavan Town, Cootehill and Kingscourt, and three Youthreach centres in County Monaghan, located in Monaghan Town, Castleblayney and Carrickmacross.

Year Allocation €
2023 3,891,191
2024 4,045,932
CMETB have advised my officials that the allocation for 2025 is currently unavailable, however, it is expected to be at a similar level to the 2024 allocation.
