My Department has received correspondence from the organisation referred to by the Deputy. I am informed by the Health Service Executive (HSE) that the organisation is not a recognised National Ambulance Service (NAS) staff trade union. As the Deputy may be aware, the HSE and NAS have long-standing relationships with recognised trade unions providing representation for NAS Staff.
This Government remains committed to investing in the continued development of our National Ambulance Service (NAS) with a significant allocation this year of €285 million. The Budget for 2025 includes €8 million for new service developments (a full year cost of €16 million in 2026), which will deliver up to 180 additional posts to further support emergency frontline services, expand NAS alternative care pathways, and continue the development of NAS specialist services such as Critical Care Retrieval and Aeromedical services.
