1365. To ask the Minister for Health is she is aware of recognition and registration issues impacting a social worker (details supplied), whose principal social work qualification is from a university in another EU member state, if she will intervene to ameliorate this delay; and if she will make a statement on the matter. Officials in my Department have been in touch with CORU, the health and social care regulator with statutory responsibility for the regulation of social workers. CORU have confirmed that this person has not submitted an application for recognition of their non-Irish qualifications. It appears that an application was commenced in November 2024 but has not been completed yet and submitted for processing by CORU.

If the person wishes to complete the application and submit it, CORU will be able to assist with the application. The person will need to log in to the applicant portal, upload all the required documentation and pay the fee of €510 to submit the application.

If the person concerned needs any assistance or guidance, they can contact CORU by phone or email .
