1059. The decision taken by Government earlier this year to endorse the Global Guidelines for Countering Antisemitism, and the IHRA working definition of antisemitism, was taken in the context of Ireland’s longstanding commitment to supporting freedom of religion or belief, equality and non-discrimination.
It was also taken in the context of a marked increase in antisemitism worldwide in recent years.
The endorsements support the Government’s wider commitment to addressing discrimination in all its forms through implementation of the National Action Plan against Racism.
That implementation is ongoing through this Department and will progress during 2025 and beyond.
