I have requested the information sought by the Deputy from the Garda authorities. Regrettably, this was not available in time and I will write to the Deputy once the information is to hand.

The sale and supply of alcohol products in licensed premises is subject to the conditions set out in the various Licensing Acts, which the Programme for Government commits to updating, with the specific provisions to be considered as part of the Government’s Legislative Programme in due course.

I am informed that the Superintendent Community Engagement Functional Area (CEFA), Coolock Garda Station is responsible for leading, managing, and co-ordinating operational uniform response and community policing within the Coolock area. The Coolock area includes Swords, Malahide and Coolock.

An Garda Síochána carried out 18 inspections of licensed premises in the Coolock area during 2024 – 2025 with no offences disclosed. This included five inspections in 2024 and 13 to date in 2025.

There have been no prosecutions of licenced premises.

Liquor licensing inspections are performed on a continuous basis.
