I am informed by the Garda authorities that as of 31 April 2025, the latest date for which figures are available, there are 33 Gardaí assigned to the Meath/Westmeath Roads Policing Unit, consisting of 29 Gardaí, three Sergeants and one Inspector.

The Garda Commissioner is responsible for the management and administration of Garda business under sections 33 and 34 of the Policing, Security and Community Safety Act 2024 including the recruitment and training of Garda Reserves.
The Garda Síochána (Reserve Members) Regulations 2024 provide for recruitment to the Reserve.
Under the Reserve Regulations, a person can join the Garda Reserve if they are 18 years of age or older, and under the age of 60.

971. To ask the Tánaiste and Minister for Justice and Equality the number of new marked and unmarked vehicles added to Garda technical bureau fleet in 2024 and to-date in 2025; and the number of vehicles withdrawn from this fleet during same period, in tabular form. [28972/25]

I am informed by the Garda authorities that as of 30 April 2025, there were 3,660 vehicles attached to the Garda fleet nationwide. This is the highest total of vehicles ever in use by An Garda Síochána, and represents an increase of over 17% since the end of December 2020.
The purchase and allocation of vehicles by An Garda Síochána is made on the basis of identified operational demands, the availability of resources, and is reviewed on a continual basis.
An Garda Síochána have confirmed that there were no vehicles removed from, or allocated to, the Garda National Technical Bureau fleet in 2024 or to date in 2025.
For the Deputy's information, the current allocation to the Technical Bureau (as of 27 May) is provided in the table below.

An Garda Síochána publishes detailed information on the Garda fleet from 2008 to date, including a Divisional monthly breakdown. Monthly fleet reports are currently available from 2020 to April 2025. This is publicly available on the Garda website at the following link:
