873. To ask the Minister for Employment Affairs and Social Protection the estimated full year cost if the qualified child allowance for children aged under 12 increased to €55 per week and for children aged over 12 increased to €72 per week. [28914/25]

The total cost of increasing the Child Support Payment (formerly the Increase for a Qualified Child) for children under 12 years, from the current rate of €50 by €5 to €55 per week, is €56.2 million.
The total cost of increasing the Child Support Payment for children 12 years and over, from the current rate of €62 by €10 to €72 per week, is €42.2 million.
The combined total cost of the increase is €98.4 million.
The above costings are on a full year basis and are based on the estimated number of recipients in 2025. It should be noted that these costings are subject to change in the context of emerging trends and associated revision of the estimated numbers of recipients for 2025.
