To ask the Minister for Housing, Planning, and Local Government the amount in the capital budget as set out in table 9 of the Annual Progress Report 2025 that is designated for the construction of new-build social housing units; the number of new social homes this allocation is expected to deliver; if this figure includes the cost of service provision; and if he will make a statement on the matter. A record level of capital investment is being provided for the delivery of Housing in 2025, with overall capital funding available of almost €6.8 billion. A key focus of this capital investment is on the delivery of social homes, with almost €2.4 billion in Exchequer funding available to support social housing delivery in 2025, including 10,000 new build social homes.

Capital costs for new build social housing units include estimated costs for unit construction (incl. external / site development works) along with allowances for site purchase costs, design team fees, utilities, site investigations, surveys, public art etc.
